Patrick
Cullen has been a composer and entertainer since the late 1970's. Together
with Clay Hodgson, Lee Mosslander, and Karen Kirkham, he started the band,
Double-Take, in 1980, but returned to doing solo work in restaurant bars
and hotel clubs until the late '80's. Finding a church music job that
turned into full-time management, Patrick composed for the church and
collected 15 of these songs on the CD, "Visions & Dreams".
Cleaning out the garage this year, the "lost tapes" from a 1981
session that included Don Johnson (piano) and Speedy West (guitars) were
found. That collection was supposed to be called "Town &
Country", but it was never released. One of songs, "To Be a Real
Cowboy" was picked up by Scotty Howard and got air time overseas. At
the request of his 14-year-old daughter (and other events to remain
private), Patrick started writing secular songs again in October of 2007.
Currently, this new collection is titled, "Works in Progress".
Patrick has studied at St. Louis University, earned a BA from Southern
Nazarene University in business, and has a Master of Liberal Studies
degree from the University of Oklahoma. Patrick has also served as adjunct
professor for Newman University.
